When a fit, trim (and, most importantly, coherent) Britney Spears stepped out onto the stage at Madonna’s early November concert in L.A. last fall, it was the first sign to all of the beleaguered pop star’s many fans that they were in for an honest-to-goodness comeback.

And — at least according to one report out of England — it looks like the Circus superstar and the Material Girl are hoping to try some repeat performances together during Brit’s upcoming world tour.

The brief article in The Mirror is short on any actual confirmation or details of exactly when fans could expect to see a Madonna and Britney duet, the item does quote a source as saying that, “choreographers have been asked to create an out-of-this-world dance routine for Britney and Madonna… This is going to be a high energy dance routine - getting back to what they are both good at, performing.”

Only time will tell if the two superstars can get their busy schedules arranged to make this happen.

Britney Spears gave in to temptation over Christmas - and indulged in lots of calorific goodies.

The Toxic singer - who has worked hard over the past few months to regain her once fabulous figure - used the Festive period as an excuse to fall off the comeback wagon.

So Britney is now starting 2009 with a revised diet and fitness regime in the hope she can burn off the pounds she’s gained over the holidays.

A source says, “Britney has been working hard to get back to something like the form she used to have but Christmas is too much of a temptation for her.

“Going home for Christmas with all that food was just too much to deny herself. She indulged herself for a few days but now she’s had to promise to get it all off again fast.

“This is a big year for her coming up and she can’t afford any more issues with her image.”

Jamie Spears’ control over daughter Britney’s upcoming Circus World Tour has driven her concert director and dance choreographer to quit, tabloid spies claim.

Tour director Wade Robson and lead choreographer Andre Fuentes, who have worked with Britney since the start of her career, jumped ship on The Spearses due to Jamie’s micromanagement, rules, curfews, drug tests, and over controlling nature, insiders reveal in this week’s edition of the National Enquirer.

“Jamie Spears is getting a reputation as a stage dad,” revealed a source. “It’s embarrassing for Britney.”

As Britney’s court-appointed conservator, Jamie is responsible for all decisions regarding his daugher’s finances and professional life.

Britney Spears‘ former assistant/disowned cousin Alli Sims has been revealed to be a shady, lying bizznatch in a recently-unearthed legal document.

Alli apparently tried to claim that a business management team mishandled her ‘career prospects’ and she wanted ‘out’ of their deal. Reps for the company said aw hell naw, and gave her quite a lashing in their responding legal doc. Here are the choicest bits:

1. You lied to us about money causing out-of–pocket expenses. We were unaward that you had made a deal with Claus Hjelmbak and Sam Lufti to pay your rent for the year of 2008. You should not have asked us to pay your rent and personal expenses since May 2008 for 6 months.

2. You lied to us about your relationship with Britney Spears. We were in the understanding that we would help you make a record album and music videos about your relationship with Britney Spears. You grossly misrepresented yourself as a singer and as a friend of Britney Spears.

3. You brough questionable friends to business trips and meetings designed to finance your album. It jeopardized our relationships with our investors and caused us loss of money.

4. After a business trip to St. Tropez fully paid for by our company and our investor you went behind our backs and started developing and filming a pilot for a reality show when you returned.

5. Slandering my company, myself and my associates. Lying about my business in France and damaging relationships I have with my business partners.

6. Lied to the media in “In Touch” Magazine about writing a song about Britney Spears. Continuing to lie about working on an album that has not even started. As well as many media reports of you writing and recording music behind our backs which we both know is a complete and utter lie.

7. You lied about your relationship with Sam Lufti and Claus Hjelmbak and the sneaky financial deals that collapsed your relationship with the entire Spears family.

Britney Spears made it a cozy New Year’s Eve with her family – seeing big brother Bryan, 31, tie the knot in a private ceremony in New Orleans.

“It was beautiful,” a source tells PEOPLE about the elder Spears’s wedding to Graciella Sanchez, 36, longtime manager of little sister Jamie Lynn. “It was only close family, very small and intimate.”

While the couple’s engagement may have caught many by surprise – they only recently started dating seriously – the two have been acquaintances for years.

The bride looked stunning in a beige-white Carolina Herrera dress, while the groom sported a smart Marc Jacobs suit. As for the guests? Sanchez’s mother and brother were in attendance, as was the entire Spears crew including sisters Britney and Jamie Lynn; their kids Jayden James, Preston and Maddie; Jamie Lynn’s fiancé Casey Aldridge; and parents Jamie and Lynne.
