The idea to include Trawick in the video was all Britney’s, but director Chris Marrs Piliero wasn’t sure he was so into it. “When she first hit me up, she had a basic story in mind, and she actually always originally planned to have Jason, her boyfriend, play the role, and I wasn’t super stoked on that idea at first, actually,” he told MTV News.

Most of his reservations were because Trawick isn’t a professional actor and he wasn’t sure his rookie acting skills would translate well in the mini-movie. “I wanted to make a really rad, epic video, and I definitely got the sense from her she wanted something really cool,” he explained. “And in my mind, I was just thinking then, ‘We really should not be using your boyfriend; we should get an actor.’ So, I mean, I didn’t say that, but in the back of my mind, I’m like, ‘I don’t like this idea at all.’ ”

Trawick and his abs, however, managed to impress Piliero — and Britney loyalists everywhere. “At the end of the day, Jason killed it. That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, ‘Wow, he’s not an actor. This is going to be interesting,’ but I really do like a challenge, and I really do like the idea that I’m a director and my job is to direct and get the performance. For me, it was a fun challenge to be like, ‘I’m gonna make sure that you are awesome,’ and he was.”

Piliero also worked with Spears on her video for “I Wanna Go,” and he was once again dazzled by her sassy acting skills. “Of course, Britney was rad,” he said. “She does a good job at nailing and doing the little acting thing. She’s cool at it.”

Sure to boost excitement over the long-awaited television concert event, Britney Spears has just released an all-new trailer for her Femme Fatale Tour special on EPIX network.

Giving fans a front row glimpse of what they can expect from the behind-the-scenes special, the clip offers up a mash-up of pop star’s biggest moments from the upcoming show.
Looking to be just as excited as the rest of us, Miss Spears tweeted a link to the promotional video with the message, “Just saw this sneak peek from The Femme Fatale concert that’s gonna be on @EpixHD on 11/12 – wanna watch with me?”

Taped at the Brit’s sold-out Toronto set, the much-anticipated feature is set to air on the premium channel November 12 at 8pm.

“So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks,” she tweeted. “Can’t wait! I LOVE London, it’s like my second home. Decided to shoot the ‘Criminal’ video in the streets of merry old England when I get there…”

The news of the video shoot comes a week or so after the singer revealed to MTV News that her next single would be the Femme Fatale slow jam. She also teased that she had some interesting ideas for the video.

“The song, when I first heard it, it’s really different and it’s not anything I’ve heard like this before,” she told us backstage at the VMAs. “So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting. You’ll have to see.”

Britney’s manager, Adam Leber, has announced via Twitter that a promo for the upcoming 2011 MTV Video Music Awards featuring Britney will air tonight  (Aug 11) , during the new episode of Jersey Shore!

LMFAO spends its fifth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, to be released tomorrow (Aug. 4) on Billboard.com, with “Party Rock Anthem,” featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, while Britney Spears scores her third top 10, “I Wanna Go,” from her album “Femme Fatale,” marking her first-ever set to produce a trio of Hot 100 top 10s. Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” remains at No. 2.

“Party” takes over the top spot on Radio Songs, lifting 2-1 with a 2% gain to 146 million in all-format audience, according to Nielsen BDS. The track tallies a fifth week at No. 1 on Digital Songs, although it declines by 4% to 202,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

At No. 9, Spears’ “Go” enters the top 10 from No. 11. The cut concurrently reaches the top tier on Radio Songs (13-9; 76 million, up 22%) and rises 9-7 on Digital Songs (116,000, down by less than 1,000 downloads). With the song’s Hot 100 advance, Spears has tallied three top 10s from her seventh studio album, “Femme Fatale.” Lead single “Hold It Against Me” debuted at No. 1 the week of Jan. 29, and “Til the World Ends” reached No. 3 in May.

Spears had twice previously banked as many as two Hot 100 top 10s from an album. The title cut from “…Baby One More Time” spent two weeks at No. 1 and “(You Drive Me) Crazy” reached No. 10 in 1999. Spears repeated the feat with the first two singles from “Circus”; “Womanizer” topped the Oct. 25, 2008, Hot 100 and the title song rose to No. 3 that December.

“Go” is Spears’ 12th Hot 100 top 10 and fifth in-a-row. Her streak began with “3″ in 2009 (from “The Singles Collection”) and, along with the first three singles from “Femme,” includes Rihanna’s “S&M,” on which Spears guested; the song ruled the April 30 Hot 100.

Dating to Spears’ first week in the Hot 100′s top 10 (Dec. 12, 1998), she trails only Rihanna (18) and Beyonce (14) for most top 10s among women.

Britney Spears is no stranger to the Video Music Awards. She has so far been nominated 28 times, won four awards and has given us some of the most iconic VMA performances of all time. Who could forget her VMA strip-down in 2000 for “Oops! … I Did It Again,” her dance with a snake for “I’m a Slave 4 U” and, of course, her infamous “Like a Virgin” kiss with Madonna?

This year, Spears looks to add to her list of VMA accomplishments with two nominations, one for Best Pop Video and one for Best Choreography for her hit Ke$ha-penned song “Till the World Ends.” MTV News recently caught up with Spears and broke the news of the nominations to the pop star.

“Oh my goodness, I’m completely flattered,” Spears said. “That is amazing! Thank you so much for telling me. That’s awesome!”

Spears will tackle some pretty stiff competition in both categories including seven-time nominee Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”) and four-time nominee Bruno Mars (“Grenade”). But Spears isn’t concentrating on her competition, she’s just happy to be recognized.

“I grew up listening to MTV. It’s just such an iconic thing to be able to participate in,” Spears said about the VMAs. “To even be presented an award is just so flattering and I’m honored. I’m excited.”

Spears should be excited after such a big year. She released her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, which reached #1 on the Billboard chart, she’s currently on the road for her summer tour, and now she has two more nominations to add to her already lengthy list of awards. So does Spears ever get used to all the VMA nominations?

“Oh no, you never get used to that!” she said.
